About Jean Stranger

Jean Stranger launched her career teaching in vocational higher education before pursuing a PhD in Chinese Film Studies and an MLS in Library and Information Studies, with publications in gender, film culture, and information studies along the way. Now a Digital Services Librarian, she debuts with a science-fiction novel that explores the insidious allure of engineered affection in a profoundly lonely world—awakening a raw, desperate love amid the quiet threat of our fade.

Living in Auckland, Jean draws inspiration from the city’s sweeping beaches, letting the ceaseless rhythm of the waves fuel her meditations on tomorrow’s watchful gaze.
